Pennington is a small, but popular coastal town, named after the family of Richard Pennington, who began farming the area in the late 19th century. It is home to the magnificent Umdoni Park, a 200 hectare sanctuary of breathtakingly beautiful indigenous coastal forest that can be enjoyed on a walk, guided tour, Park Run or on horseback. Golfers are spoilt for choice with two renowned golf courses, Umdoni Country Club and Selborne Park Golf Estate, each with its own distinct character. Pennington Beach is small, but popular with nature lovers, who enjoy whale and dolphin watching from the seafront kiosk.

Pennington with it’s unspoiled, tranquil beach and tidal pool, offers sun-worshippers idyllic surroundings to brush up on their tan. Visit Impilhe Beach Kiosk, a well run Pennington Conservancy Project.  South of the main bathing beach is Umdoni Point, one of the top fishing spots along this part of the coast. Pottery and a variety of small shops selling handmade articles can be found while browsing round the village markets.
