Crocworld is the place where everyone can immerse themselves in- and reconnect with nature, on KwaZulu-Natal’s spectacular South Coast.
Set on 26ha of beautifully landscaped indigenous gardens and coastal forest, with stunning sea views, Crocworld has undergone a massive transformation.
New enclosures have been built, infrastructure has been revamped and exhibits have been increased.
The bird department has been expanded with a host of new species and our snake tunnel now houses species from various continents.
The Centre is now home to five different crocodilian species, namely: Nile Crocodiles, American Alligators, West-African Slender Snouted Crocodiles, West-African Dwarf Crocodiles and Spectacled Caimen.
There is an onsite restaurant, The Fish Eagle Café, with a delectable menu and incredible sea views, it is an awesome way to finish off your day at the park.
Crocworld Conservation Centre is part of Crookes Brothers South Africa Pty Ltd, whom fall under the Crookes Brothers Limited banner, which is a JSE registered company with over 100 years of history in farming sugar cane on the South Coast and who have owned and operated the centre since 1985. The centre ties in with the company’s vision of preserving the natural identity of the upper South Coast and promoting tourism to our area.
Open time from 8h30 until 16h30 and situated ± 10 kms along the old Main Road north of Scottburgh where one can view large Nile crocodiles in safety. At daily feeding times (usually at 11h00 and 15h00 except on Mondays out of season) A guided tour of Crocworld is conducted which also includes the crocodile breeding ponds. There is a short self-guided coastal trail including a lovely boardwalk into the coastal forest, which also holds a large number of indigenous birds. Crocworld is home to over 10,000 Nile crocodiles, Alligators, African long-snouted and Dwarf Crocodiles. Don’t miss Georg’s Jungle House, a tree top experience showcasing an amazing collection of South Amercan birds and mammals. Wander through the snake tunnel and view a collection of poisonous mambas and other venomous and exotic snakes. Visit their Curio Shop and take refreshment in the Restaurant. Contact (039) 9761103
