Green Point in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) is a coastal area near Clansthal on the South Coast, roughly 60 km south of Durban, renowned for the historic, red-and-white striped Green Point Lighthouse (erected 1905). It is a quiet residential spot known for a challenging, high-quality right-hand surf break and scenic, rocky, and sandy coastline.

Green Point Lighthouse:
Built in 1905 to guide ships past the treacherous Aliwal Shoal, it is a 21-meter high, cast-iron tower that remains active today. It is often referred to as the “Clanstyle Lighthouse” and serves as a significant maritime heritage site.
Surfing and Recreation:
The area is a popular, albeit challenging, spot for surfers, offering a right-hand point break that works best on larger swells. It is generally quieter than nearby Scottburgh.
Location and Nature: Situated between Scottburgh and Umkomaas, it is close to the Aliwal Shoal reef (approx. 5 km offshore). The area features a mix of rocky outcrops and beaches, offering a more secluded coastal experience.
